Covenant Baptist United Church of Christ (Washington Blade photo by Michael Key)
Covenant Baptist United Church of Christ (3845 South Capitol St.) hosts an exhibition of photos titled “We Have Faith: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Clergy and People of Faith Speak Out” Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibit runs through Wednesday.
The show features portraits of prominent LGBT faith leaders and supporters exhibited in Minnesota, Maryland, Washington State and New York. It was part of a effort to promote voices of pro-LGBT faith leaders in the media.
This exhibit is free to view. Covenant is one of the District’s most gay-welcoming churches. For more information, visit covenantbaptistucc.org.

As one of the creators of this exhibit, I hope houses of workshop everywhere will bring this show to their halls! Yes, carrying a positive LGBT message to people of faith who listen to their clergy members and leaders is a reason for celebration!
