LONDON — A religious U.S. group called Faith 2 Action has produced a video mocking the pro-gay book “Heather Has Two Mommies” by comparing being gay to smoking, Gay Star News, a British LGBT news agency, reported this week.
In the video, a woman reads a book called “Heather Has Two Cigarettes” to a group of children she has given cigarettes to. The woman, Janet Porter, hands out packs of cigarettes to the children, who are later shown pretending to smoke, the article said.
She tells them they’re celebrating “smokers pride month” and tells of “great people in history” who were smokers, including President Obama. A young girl who says she’s a “non smoker” is singled out and called a “smokophobe.” Porter tells the child if she doesn’t curb her intolerance of smoking, she’ll be sent to the principal’s office and forced into diversity training.
The video was removed by YouTube and Vimeo but some viewers have attempted to re-post it. It attracted a deluge of critical comments, Gay Star News reported.
