American Dance Institute (1570 East Jefferson St., Rockville, Md.) hosts Canadian dancer Joshua Beamish on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.

Beamish, who’s gay, will perform his contemporary work “Pierced,” which takes audiences on a journey through the dark side of love, from its pain to its fulfilling splendor. He will also perform the world premier of “The Black Vale,” set to various selections by Vivaldi, and perform with two of the company’s male dancers.
