The first screening of Baltimore’s QUEER Film & Media Festival — or B’moreQFest — will take place Nov. 2 at Universal Catering & Events, 6809 Blair Rd. in Baltimore. The screening, “Married & Counting” sponsored by Del. Maggie McIntosh, is one of a series of events that will consist of films, a discussion panel and fundraising events to benefit the festival in June 2014. A meet and greet with the filmmaker, Allan Piper, will take place at 5 p.m. followed by the film at 6 p.m.

“After more than a decade without one to call its own, Baltimore will once again host a significant and larger international LGBT film Festival,” said Chris Lines, the festival’s director and a former filmmaker as well as a fundraiser who founded Baltimore’s Queer Film and Video Festival in 1998 and ran it through 1999.
