“Welcome to Night Vale,” a twice-monthly surrealist-style podcast, holds a live recording at the Lincoln Theater  (1215 U St., N.W.) Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The series is recorded in the style of community updates for Night Vale, a small desert town with unusual happenings such as dark hooded figures, a mysterious glowing cloud in the sky and a police force that knows more than they let on, by radio announcer Cecil Baldwin (voiced by Cecil Gershwin Palmer). His hopeless crush on Carlos the Scientist, who is investigating Night Vale’s strange phenomena, becomes a dream come true when the pair begin dating. “Welcome to Night Vale,” written by Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor, has achieved cult fame and is available for download on iTunes.

Tickets are $25. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit thelincolndc.com or commonplacebooks.com.
