‘I Am My Own Wife’ slated for Frederick run

“I Am My Own Wife,” a Pulitzer Prize-winning play about a German transvestite, opens at the Maryland Ensemble Theatre (31 W. Patrick St., Frederick, Md.) next Thursday at 8 p.m. through Aug. 17 and Aug. 21-24.

The one-man show tells the true story about a German transvestite who survived the Nazis and the East German Communist regime. Local actor Eric Jones portrays all 35 of the play’s characters. Local director Rebecca O’Leary directs the show.
