“Frozen” fans took to social media to demand LGBT representation in Disney movies, starting with giving Elsa a girlfriend in the sequel.

#GiveElsaAGirlfriend began trending on Twitter on Saturday, April 30 after Twitter user @lexi4prez tweeted “Dear @Disney, #GiveElsaAGirlfriend.” The one tweet earned over one thousand retweets and more than two thousand likes. The tweet landed the hashtag at number three. Other users tweeted their own imaginings for Elsa’s possible future romantic story, including fan art.

“Frozen” director Chris Buck told MTV News that the sequel’s storylines would be more inclusive, although if a specific LGBT story is in the works is still unclear.

“We will tackle other issues that, I think, are out there today that boys and girls, men and women, are dealing with,” Buck told MTV News. “I think we’re very aware of what is happening in society.”

An official release date for the sequel has yet to be announced.
