Drag artist Taylor Mac presents “A 24-Decade History of Popular Music (Abridged)” at the Kennedy Center (2700 F St., N.W.) on Tuesday, March 6 at 7 p.m.

Mac tells the history of the United States from its founding in 1776 until present day using songs of the time. The performance incorporates styles ranging from murder ballads to disco and highlights important figures such as Walt Whitman and David Bowie. Tickets range from $39-119.
