“Fantastic Beasts 2: The Crimes of Grindelwald” has released its first trailer which introduces young Albus Dumbledore for the first time.

Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) returns for the sequel which shows the aftermath of Grindelwald’s capture from the first film. Newt leaves New York City with his love interest Porpetina Goldstein (Katherine Waterson) and the duo travel to Paris.

Hogwarts makes its first “Fantastic Beasts” appearance as Dumbledore is seen trying to help Newt fight Grindelwald (Johnny Depp).

Writer J.K. Rowling has stated that Dumbledore is gay and was in love with his former friend Grindelwald. However, some fans were upset that Dumbledore wouldn’t be portrayed as gay in the film.
