Policy Counsel or Policy Analyst
Transgender Civil Rights The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (The Task Force) is the country’s premier social justice organization fighting to improve the lives of LGBT people, & working to create positive, lasting change & opportunity for all. The Policy Counsel/Policy Analyst, Transgender Civil Rights Project is a critical member of a team working on issues related to transgender civil rights. This position provides analysis & advice to local & state activists & organizations, as well as manages the Task Force’s federal agency & Congressional advocacy & education efforts related to transgender civil rights. Qualifications: J.D. degree preferred. At least one year of experience working for transgender rights, which can be met through volunteer, unpaid activities. Excellent research, writing, editing, & oral communication skills required, including public speaking. Ability to patiently work with, & educate, those inside & outside of the LGBT movement who are not yet fully acting in a trans-inclusive manner.
