Athletes from across the country came to Washington, D.C. over the weekend to compete in the flag football Gay Bowl XVI. Games were held at the National Polo Fields and West Potomac Park. Nightlife events were held at Nellie’s Sports Bar, Town Danceboutique and other venues throughout the weekend. (Washington Blade photos by Michael Key and Hugh Clarke)

The Cherry Weekend main event party was “Fire” at Betty (1235 W Street, N.E.) on Saturday, April 12. Detox of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” met with fans.

The Mr., Mx, & Miss Capital Pride Pageant was held at The Schuyler at The Hamilton Hotel on Thursday, April 3. Sirène Noir Sidora Jackson won the title of Mx Capital Pride 2025. Jackson B. Nite won the title of Mr. Capital Pride 2025. Shelita Ramen won the title of Miss Capital Pride 2025.
