GLAA candidate rankings to come
The Gay & Lesbian Activists Alliance met Tuesday night in the National Press Building to rank candidates running for local office.
The rankings were not immediately available. Look in next week’s edition for details of how the local candidates fared.
GLAA sends questionnaires to candidates for local office and ranks them based on their responses — or lack thereof — to various questions concerning LGBT issues and other topics.
Seventeen candidates responded, including D.C. City Council incumbents Mary Cheh, Harry Thomas, Jim Graham, Phil Mendelson, Tommy Wells and Kwame Brown; Council hopefuls Marc Morgan, Bryan Weaver, Darryl Moch, David Schwartzman, Clark Ray, Vincent Orange, Dorothy Douglas, Tim Day and Tracey Turner; and D.C. mayoral frontrunners Vince Gray and incumbent Adrian Fenty.
GLAA members Rick Rosendall, Craig Howell, Frank Kameny, Ron Swanda, Geri Hughes, Cartwright Moore, Barrett Brick, Miguel Tuason and Bob Summersgill pored over the responses to determine the rankings.
