PHOTOS: ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ protest at White House
Speakers included former DNC Chair Howard Dean
Activists at a rally May 2 in Lafayette Park demanded the White House take swift action to end the U.S. military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy on openly-LGBT troops. Speakers included Aubrey Sarvis of Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, Alex Nicholson of Servicemembers United, U.S. Army Lt. Dan Choi and former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean. Following the rally, six protesters chained themselves to the White House fence and were arrested.

PHOTOS: ‘ICE Out For Good’ Sunday protests
Northern Virginia demonstrations among nationwide protest
“ICE Out For Good” demonstrations were held in the Northern Virginia municipalities of Haymarket, Annandale and Arlington, among others, on Sunday, Jan. 12.
Nearly 1,200 similar actions were scheduled nationwide over the weekend, according to a statement from organizers.
Demonstrations in D.C. against ICE included a protest march on Friday and a march around the White House on Saturday.
