D.C.-based drag performer Shi-Queeta Lee might have made history as the first drag queen to perform at the White House.
Shi-Queeta Lee performed at the Transgender Community Briefing, sponsored by the White House Office of Public Engagement, on Thursday evening. Her performance marks possibly the only time a drag queen has performed at the White House.
The goal of the briefing was to unite transgender leaders and other community members to discuss policy issues affecting the transgender community and to celebrate the cultural accomplishments of the community.
The briefing was available for streaming on whitehouse.gov.
Lee is a regular performer at Town and hosts Nellie’s Sports Bar Drag Brunch and Drag Bingo.
