Return of MidCity Dog Days
Don’t have plans for this weekend?
Head to MidCity for the 11th annual sidewalk sale, MidCity Dog Days of Summer, returning this weekend, bringing sales and specials from many of the area’s businesses.
MidCity is just north of the downtown area and includes some of the city’s most dynamic commercial corridors, such as U Street, Logan Circle, 14th Street and 9th Street.
There will be sales that will last all weekend, but some businesses have special events scheduled for one day only.
Saturday, in addition to its sale, Sukio Design Co., 1338 U St. N.W., is hosting the opening of “Reflections Eternal”, a showcase of clocks and mirrors by artist and designer Eto Otitigbe. Visitors will be able to meet the artist.
On Sunday, visitors to Source, 1835 14th St., N.W., can get a sneak peek of upcoming shows, meet the artists, and participate in light saber, improv and step workshops.
Planned sales range from 15 percent off the entire store at Timothy Paul Bedding + Home, 1529 14 St., N.W., to $5 bargain bin and complimentary refreshments at Treasury Vintage, 1843 14th St., N.W.
Get there early because some businesses are giving their first customers even more gifts and savings.
Lettie Gooch Boutique, 1517 U St., N.W., is giving its first 25 customers an additional 10 percent off their favorite item.
The first 50 guests to visit TD Bank, 1489 P St., N.W., each day, will receive a gift bag with special coupons, plus five lucky bags will also contain a $100 TD Bank Visa gift card.
The Dog Days of August Sidewalk Sale is organized by the MidCity Business Association, a non-profit helping the more than 500+ businesses in their service area to access resources and customers through marketing, advertising, training and advocacy.
Visit midcitylife.org for a complete list of participating vendors and a map.
