Lesbian musician Amelia White joins nine-time Grammy winning band, Asleep at the Wheel, in a performance at the Birchmere (3701 Mount Vernon Ave.) on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.

Born in Virginia but a Boston-based musician, White’s influences are a combination of country and classic rock. Her most recent album “Beautiful and Wild” explores the idea of souls crossing to the next world and connections made with beings beyond the physical. The title track was written about guitarist Duane Jarvis, whom she met in 2001 and who died an untimely death in 2009.

Tickets are $35. For details, visit birchmere.com.
