Xander Dumas and Elliot Mittens, a lesbian duo who comprise the Dandy Vagabonds, will showcase “Ruby Moon: A Parade of Vintage Elegance” at The Alchemy of Art located at 1637 Eastern Ave. in Fell’s Point during the month of June. The opening gallery night to introduce their show will be held June 5 from 7-11p.m. It’s a BYOB event.

“Ruby Moon: A Parade of Vintage Elegance” is an interactive exhibit highlighting several early 1900s innovative female performers who defied gender stereotypes and pioneered a platform on which we are proud to stand.

“Told with colors and shapes represented in the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods, this installation is part of an ongoing project in which we hope to inform and inspire our audience of these strong, courageous, graceful, brilliant performers,” Dumas told the Blade.
