Bonnet contest at JR.’s, annual Easter Egg Roll at White House
Locals celebrated Easter this week at JR.’s and the White House. On April 4, JR.’s hosted its 25th annual Easter bonnet contest, where participants were judged on their intricately detailed headgear. On April 5, families headed by same-sex couples joined the White House’s annual Easter Egg Roll. Among the participants were Jacky Kaplan and Anna Perkins, who cheered on their son, David Kaplan-Perkins, as he rolled his egg to the finish line.

JR.’s held “Wicked Night” on Saturday to celebrate the release of the movie version of the musical, “Wicked.” Performers included Citrine, Dabatha Christie, Sirene Noir and Hennessey.

Capital Pride Alliance held its annual Pride Reveal party on Thursday at The Schuyler in The Hamilton Hotel in downtown Washington, D.C. “The Fabric of Freedom” was announced as the theme for Pride in 2025. World Pride 2025 will take place in D.C. this summer.
Number Nine was lively on Saturday night. The Logan Circle venue was voted “Best Neighborhood Bar” in the Washington Blade’s Best of LGBTQ D.C. 2024 reader’s choice awards.
