The D.C. Gay Flag Football League held the first rounds of the league’s playoffs on Sunday, April 29 at Carter Barron Field. The Washington Blade-sponsored team, the Purple Pounders, edged out its opponents with a score of 40 – 22.

The Miss Gay Old Bay pageant was held at The Lodge in Boonsboro, Md. on Friday, Aug. 29. Vanya Varushka was crowned the winner. Glitter Douglas was named first runner-up. Both Varushka and Douglas qualify to compete in the Miss Gay Maryland pageant in October.
