Tough choice for theater fans

Theater divas Patti LuPone and Jennifer Holliday have simultaneous concerts planned in the region Saturday night at 8.

LuPone will be at George Mason University’s Center for the Arts (440 University Drive, Fairfax, Va.) with her “Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda … Played That Part” show in which the Broadway legend, known for “Evita,” “Sunset Blvd.” and more, sings selections from shows such as “Hair,” “Bye Bye Birdie,” “Funny Girl” and more. It’s part of the school’s “Arts by George!” benefit.

Holliday, best known for starring in Broadway’s “Dreamgirls” and performing “And I am Telling You,” will be at the Howard (620 T St., N.W.) and is touring behind her new album “The Song is You.”
