“The Big Bang Theory,” the most watched show on broadcast T.V., is getting a spinoff prequel about a young Sheldon Cooper, according to Deadline.
The project titled “Sheldon” would be about a 12-year-old Sheldon navigating his child prodigy years in Texas, Deadline reports.
“Big Bang” co-creators Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady and executive producer Steven Molaro are expected to be on board for the new project.
Jim Parsons is a four-time Emmy winner for his portrayal of Sheldon. Variety reports Parsons would not appear on screen for the new sitcom but would reportedly be an executive producer.
“The Big Theory” is currently in its tenth season. Whether the show will continue is uncertain as the cast is undergoing new contract negotiations.
