‘SNL’ star Kate McKinnon cast as lead in ‘The Lunch Witch’
the out comedian will play a witchy cafeteria worker

“Saturday Night Live” star Kate McKinnon has been cast as the lead in the movie adaptation of YAÂ novel “The Lunch Witch” by Deb Lucke.
According to Deadline, McKinnon, 32, will play Grunhilda, a witch who has inherited her family’s potion recipes. Since no one believes in magic anymore, Grunhilda must close her potions shop and become a lunch lady. While working at the school she befriends a shy girl named Madison.
No release date has been set.
The out comedian has already been breaking onto the big screen with this summer’s “Ghostbusters” and “Office Christmas Party,” currently in theaters.
Equality Prince William Pride was held at the Harris Pavilion in Manassas, Va. on Saturday, May 16.

Ashley Biden accepts award for Beau Biden at annual Rehoboth fundraiser
The 19th annual Blade Foundation Summer Kickoff Party was held on Friday, May 15 at Diego’s in Rehoboth Beach, Del. An award presentation was held for former Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden. Ashley Biden accepted the award on her brother’s behalf and gave remarks. Other speakers included Delaware state Rep. Claire Snyder-Hall, CAMP Rehoboth Executive Director Dr. Robin Brennan and Washington Blade Editor Kevin Naff. The event was a fundraiser for the Steve Elkins Memorial Fellowship in Journalism.
