The seventh annual Capital Queer Prom happens at the Renaissance Dupont Ballroom (1143 New Hampshire Ave., NW) starting at 7 p.m. Saturday night.

The event is a formal gala that gives the LGBT community the opportunity to celebrate prom they way they should have in high school. The evening will include casino games, entertainment, cocktails and canapés, music and dancing, a silent auction, prom photos and the crowing of the 2013 Prom King and Queen.

The following morning will be a brunch at Nellie’s Sports Bar (900 U St., NW).

Tickets are $70-$125. For more information, visit capitalqueerprom.com.
