Former Power Ranger David Yost comes out

Two more celebs have come out. Radio host Stephanie Catherine Miller, a popular liberal radio talk show host, came out on her show last week and said she was inspired by country singer Chely Wright. And actor David Yost, who played the original blue Power Ranger, a nerdy teen named Billy who possesses unexpected martial arts abilities, came out at the 2010 Anime Festival in Orlando.
But Yost’s story has a twist. He said he walked off the “Power Rangers” set after being called faggot “one too many times … I had just heard that several times while working on the show from creators, producers, writers, directors … Basically I just felt like I was continually being told I was not worthy of being where I am because I’m a gay person. And I’m not supposed to be an actor and I’m not supposed to be a superhero.”
He said he had a nervous breakdown after being written out of the show and came close to suicide.
