Washington Blade announces debut of new Capital Pride App
Washington, D.C. — The Washington Blade, the nation’s oldest and most acclaimed LGBT newspaper, announced today the creation of the new, official mobile app for Capital Pride.
The new app was created by JamPot Technologies and is available for download in the Apple Store, Android Marketplace, Google Play, and Windows Market Place. The app will provide Capital Pride attendees and supporters with the most up-to-date information regarding the festivities, including mobile access to the official 2012 Capital Pride Guide, maps, events, pictures and more.
“We are excited to launch the Capital Pride app this year, “ said Capital Pride Executive Director Ryan Bos. “For the first time, the community will be able to access real-time information about our events and stay engaged throughout our Capital Pride Celebration.”
“We are thrilled to be a part of the first-ever Capital Pride app,” said Blade publisher Lynne Brown. “This new tool will enable us to quickly disseminate relevant information to Capital Pride’s thousands of supporters.”
The Capital Pride app debuts just weeks before the official 2012 Capital Pride Guide,which will be available starting May 25. The Pride Guide will be distributed throughout the Metropolitan D.C. area and beyond, including in more than 200 Washington Blade boxes, and in nearby cities like Richmond, Philadelphia, New York and Rehoboth Beach.The Washington Blade will also host an official launch party for the Pride Guide later this month.
The Washington Blade was founded in 1969 and is known as the “newspaper of record” for the LGBT community both locally and nationally.
