Md. Marriage ‘Day of Action’ Saturday
Marylanders for Marriage Equality will hold a coordinated “Day of Action” beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday. Volunteers will knock on doors and make phone calls to educate voters on the issue of marriage equality that will appear on the ballot in November. This effort will focus on four key jurisdictions and volunteers should report by 10 a.m. to the following locations:
Baltimore City: 2400 Boston St., Suite 101D; Baltimore County: 301 Allegheny Ave., Towson; Montgomery County: 8720 Georgia Ave. Suite 900, Silver Spring; and Prince Georges County: 7541 Greenbelt Rd., Greenbelt.
In conjunction with this effort, there will be 10 house parties taking place Saturday statewide that will seek to raise money and recruit volunteers. More information is available at marylandersformarriageequality.org.
In related news, on Aug. 26, The LEAD ministry of St. Matthew Parish, 5401 Loch Raven Blvd., Towson, will host a gathering during which both sides of the marriage equality issue will be presented. The meeting takes place at 6 p.m. All are welcome and light refreshments will be served.
