Transgender Day of Remembrance will be honored at Metropolitan Community Church (474 Ridge St., N.W.) on Monday, Nov. 20 from 5:30-8 p.m.
The observance will pay tribute to transgender people who have been murdered due to anti-transgender violence. The first Transgender Day of Remembrance was held in 1999 following the 1998 murder of Rita Hester. For those who cannot attend, the event will be live streamed at livestream.com/mccdc/tdor.
