The Capital Pride Heroes Gala and Silent Auction was held at the Powerhouse in Georgetown on Wednesday. Awardees included Ed Bailey, Barbara Lewis, Darren Phelps, Maryland state Sen. Jamie Raskin, Margot Rosen, Consuella Lopez, Hassan Naveed, Jennifer Hall and Dignity Washington.

A “No Kings” demonstration was held in Anacostia on Saturday to protest the Trump administration. Speakers at the rally included LGBTQ activist, Rayceen Pendarvis. Following the rally, demonstrators marched across the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge.
