Memorial for Calvin Steinmetz set for Jan. 17

Calvin Steinmetz died at age 62.

A celebration of life gathering for Calvin Steinmetz, the former D.C. attorney who died at his home in Wilton Manors, Fla., on Dec. 5, is scheduled to take place Saturday, Jan. 17, from 2-4 p.m. at Town nightclub at 2009 8th St., N.W.

Steinmetz, 62, who was gay, practiced law for more than 30 years in D.C., Maryland and Virginia and most recently in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. His partner of 30 years, Bryan Boyle, has invited members of the D.C.-area LGBT community and others who knew Steinmetz during his years in Washington to participate in the life celebration gathering.
