“Saturday Night Live” has promoted a gay man and a woman to co-head writers.

Chris Kelly, who is gay, and Sarah Schneider will be replacing Rob Klein and Bryan Tucker as “SNL” head writers this coming season, SplitSider reports. Schnieder will be the show’s first female head writer since 2008.

Kelly and Schneider joined the “SNL” writing team in 2011. Since then, they have contributed to popular sketches like “Back Home Ballers,” “The Beygency,” “Bar Talk with Hillary Clinton” and “Bern Your Enthusiasm.” They also contributed to the sketch “Do It (On My Twin Bed),” which received an Emmy nomination.

Kelly has also written and directed the LGBT film “Other People,” which was screened at Sundance Film Festival and Outfest this year.
