A Night Out for Trevor is May 19
Annual benefit raises money to prevent teen suicide
The Trevor Project hosts A Night Out for Trevor at Kimpton Hotel Monaco (700 F St., N.W.) on Friday, May 19from 7:30-10:30 p.m.
Raffi Freedman-Gurspan, the first openly transgender staffer to work at the White House, will be honored with the Outstanding Public Service Award. News4ās Chuck Bell will emcee the event. DJ Jeff Prior and DJ Khelan Bhatia from BreakfastClub will spin tracks. There will be a hosted bar, food and a silent auction. General admission tickets are $125. Trevor Star admission is $175 and includes early admission for an Impact Circle program at 6:45 p.m.

Come unleash your inner artist at the DC Center
Watercolor painting class held on Thursday
āWatercolor Painting with Center Agingā will be on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 12 p.m. at the DC Center for the LGBT Community.
In this winter-themed painting class for seniors led by local artist Laya Monarez, guests will learn about watercoloring techniques, be given a demonstration, and allowed to create their own watercolor pieces. Go Gay DC will host āLGBTQ+ Community Brunchā at 11 a.m. at Freddieās Beach Bar & Restaurant. This fun weekly event brings the DMV area LGBTQ community, including allies, together for delicious food and conversation. Attendance is free and more details are available on Eventbrite.
LGBTQ People of Color Support Group will be at 1 p.m. on Zoom. This peer support group is an outlet for LGBTQ People of Color to come together and talk about anything affecting them in a space that strives to be safe and judgment free. Go Gay DC will host āLGBTQ+ Community Dinnerā at 6:30 p.m. at Federico Ristorante Italiano Freddieās Beach Bar & Restaurant. AfroCode DC will be at 4 p.m. at Decades DC. This event will be an experience of non-stop music, dancing, and good vibes and a crossover of genres and a fusion of cultures. Tickets cost $40 and can be purchased on Eventbrite.Ā

Trans Support Group will be at 7 p.m. on Zoom. This group is intended to provide emotionally and physically safe space for trans people and those who may be questioning their gender identity/expression to join together in community and learn from one another. Job Club will be at 6 p.m. on Zoom.
