Gay Men’s Chorus hosts ‘Ropeburn 2’

The Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington presents “Ropeburn 2: Guardians of Equality,” a cosplay event, at SAX (734 11th St., N.W.) on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 6:30 p.m. 

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” alum Dax ExclamationPoint will host the event. Fandoms ranging from sci-fi and fantasy to anime and gaming will be represented through cosplay burlesque, artist meet-and-greets and a cosplay competition. There will also be performances by 17th Street Dance and aerialists, a panel discussion on the intersection of LGBT identity and fandom and a dance party. The panel discussion kicks off at 7 p.m. followed by performances at 8:30 p.m. The cosplay show and contest is at 9:30 p.m. All are welcome. Costumes are encouraged. Tickets are $80.
