‘American Psycho’ hits Broadway

the classic book and movie is now a musical

“American Psycho”, based on the novel of the same name by Bret Easton Ellis, is coming to Broadway on Wednesday, April 7 with preview performances starting in March.

After selling-out performances in London, the play has now made the trans-atlantic journey to run on Broadway.

The book, which was also turned into the 2000 feature film, tells the story of a young, hip banker who succumbs to his bloodthirsty urges and starts committing murder all over New York City in the ’80s.

Benjamin Walker will star as Patrick Bateman, originally portrayed by Christian Bale in the film. The play’s music and lyrics were written by Duncan Sheik from “Spring Awakening”, Robert Aguirre-Sacasa from “Looking” and “Glee” wrote the book. Rupert Goold from “King Charles III” directs the musical with choreography by Lynne Page from “La Cage Aux Folles.”

The annual CAMP Rehoboth fundraiser, SUNFESTIVAL, was held over Labor Day weekend in Rehoboth Beach, Del. The festival included a massive dance party at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center on Sunday.

Rehoboth Mayor-elect Susan Stewart will speak at the Blade Foundation fundraiser on Sept. 12.

The Washington Blade Foundation will host a fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 12 in Rehoboth Beach featuring remarks from Rehoboth’s Mayor-elect Susan Stewart and Delaware state Rep. Claire Snyder-Hall.

The Foundation funds fellowships for aspiring queer journalists and enterprise journalism projects.

The event will be held at a private home in Rehoboth. Tickets are $100 and include open bar from Diego’s, catered appetizers from the Blue Moon, entertainment, guest speakers, and an auction. Tickets are available here.
