Team D.C. hosts annual event for the Nats game
Team D.C., an umbrella organization for D.C.-area LGBT sports teams, hosted the annual “Night Out at the Nationals” at Nationals Stadium on Tuesday, June 26. The Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington sang the national anthem, trans Obama official Amanda Simpson was a part of the pre-game line-up and the Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart announced “play ball.” Openly gay congressional staffer Daniel Hernandez, who made headlines when he provided first aid to his boss Gabrielle Giffords after she was shot at an Arizona speaking engagement, threw out the first pitch.
