ROANOKE — Will Trinkle and his partner Juan Granados are suing their former gym after their family membership was revoked when the management discovered the couple was gay, according to WDBJ-7 TV.

The couple had signed up for a family membership to include their two-year-old son on the recommendation of a Roanoke Athletic Club employee. However, several weeks later, the gym called to say it was revoking the membership and changing policies to ensure other same-sex couples do not get memberships in the future.

“It was, and continues to be, a punch to our gut,” Trinkle said in a news conference announcing a lawsuit against the gym and its parent company, Carilion Clinic.
