WASHINGTON — On the heels of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s call for LGBT rights worldwide, the State Department has set up a text messaging number that will allow Americans to donate to a global fund that supports programs that advance the human rights of LGBT people around the world.

According to the mGive International Response Equality Fund’s website, the $10 donations will be used to “help to further programs and initiatives aimed at advancing human rights, fostering equality, advocacy, protection and dialogue to ensure human rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) persons around the world.”
