ST. PAUL, Minn. — Opponents of a ballot measure that would bar same-sex marriage in the Minnesota Constitution were heartened by the results of a recent poll that placed opposition to the proposition ahead of support for the first time.

The Public Policy Polling survey found 49 percent of likely voters planning to vote against the ballot measure, while 46 percent plan to vote for it, a flip from one month ago when supporters of the ban led 48 percent to opponents’ 47 percent.
