NEW YORK—Folk singer Michelle Shocked told CNN’s Piers Morgan on Monday she is “not homophobic.”

Her comments come slightly more than two weeks after she sparked a firestorm of controversy with an anti-gay tirade during a San Francisco concert that was the first stop on her 11-city U.S. tour. Venues in California, Oregon, Washington and Illinois at which Shocked had been scheduled to perform cancelled her appearances.

Shocked, who once came out as bisexual, told Morgan she also supports same-sex marriage.
