Filmmaker series continues with Lucas, more

Reel Affirmations presents screenings and discussions with the filmmakers of “Campaign of Hate: Russia and Gay Propaganda” and “Before You Know It” at Human Rights Campaign (1640 Rhode Island Ave., N.W.) this week.

On Tuesday from 6:30-9:30 p.m. there will be a screening of “Campaign of Hate,” a documentary that follows Russia’s anti-gay legislation including Russia’s ban on “gay propaganda” in 2013. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A session with filmmaker Michael Lucas. Thursday from 7-10 p.m. there will be a screening of “Before You Know It,” a documentary about three gay seniors and the struggles they face, followed by a Q&A with director PJ Ravel and the film’s participants.
