Barbie releases curvy, tall and petite dolls
classic toy gets a makeover
Barbie is getting a body makeover with the doll coming in three additional body types, Mattel announced on Thursday.
The dolls will have tall, petite and curvy figures to choose from along with the original body version. They will come in different shades of skin tone, different eye colors, have a variety of hairstyles and more outfits to choose from.
Last year, Mattel began integrating a selection of features in the doll line by adding more skin tones, hairstyles and outfits. Barbie’s feet were also flattened so that she no longer had the tell-tale arch meant for her Barbie high heels.
The new dolls are available to purchase now online at Barbie.com. They hit the shelves in store on March 1.
