Sean Dorsey Dance, led by transgender choreographer Sean Dorsey, performs “The Missing Generation” at Dance Place (3225 8th St., N.E.) on Saturday, April 2 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 3 at 7 p.m.

The performance piece pays tribute to the gay and transgender individuals whose lives were lost to the AIDS epidemic in the ‘80s and ‘90s. Mixing dance with theater and storytelling, the multi-media dance delves into the history of the AIDS crisis using first hand historical accounts. Dorsey’s dedication to the project was a two-year endeavor collecting an archive of recorded oral history interviews which are included in the show.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Seniors and college student tickets are $15. For more details, visit danceplace.org.
