Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato cancel North Carolina shows over anti-LGBT law
the artists are the latest musicians to skip show dates in the state

Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato have cancelled their North Carolina dates for their joint Future Now tour over the state’s HB2 law.
The two musicians were scheduled to perform in Charlotte on June 30 and Raleigh on July 2. In a joint statement released on Twitter, Jonas and Lovato announced they won’t be performing in the state because of the “hateful law.”
“One of our goals for the tour has always been to create an atmosphere where every single attendee feels equal, included, and accepted for who they are,” Jonas and Lovato tweeted. “North Carolina’s discriminatory HB2 law is extremely disappointing, and it takes away some of the LGBT community’s most basic rights and protections.”
Jonas and Lovato join a growing number of musicians cancelling concerts in North Carolina including Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam and Ringo Starr.
