Hundreds of health care providers, policy makers and advocates
participated in the International Conference on AIDS in Atlanta 34
years ago this month.

The conference was the largest gathering of its kind since Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention reported the first cases of what became
known as AIDS in 1981. Whitman-Walker Health was among the
organizations that took part in the conference
