Janet Jackson will perform at the Jeddah World Fest in Saudi Arabia following Nicki Minaj dropping out of the music festival citing support for LGBTQ rights and women’s rights.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the other headliners will include 50 Cent, Steve Aoki, Chris Brown, Future, Liam Payne and Tyga.
Minaj was scheduled to perform at the festival but was urged by the Human Rights Foundation to drop out. The organization also asked Payne to withdraw his participation.
“After careful reflection I have decided to no longer move forward with my scheduled concert at Jeddah World Fest,” Minaj said in a statement to the Associated Press.“While I want nothing more than to bring my show to fans in Saudi Arabia, after better educating myself on the issues, I believe it is important for me to make clear my support for the rights of women, the LGBTQ community and freedom of expression.”
The concert takes place on Thursday at the King Abdullah Sports Stadium.
