Saturday, November 20
LGBTQ People of Color Support Group will be at 1 p.m. on Zoom. This peer support group is an outlet for LGBTQ People of Color to come together and talk about anything affecting them in a space the strives to be safe and judgement free. For more information, email [email protected].
South Asian Support Group will be at 1:30 p.m. in person at the DC Center for the LGBT Community and online on Zoom. This event is only open to people who identify as LGBTQ+ and can trace their family heritage to South Asia (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka) Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions.
Sunday, November 21
Black Lesbian Support Group will be at 1 p.m. on Zoom. This peer-led support group devoted to the joys and challenges of being a Black lesbian. Guests do not need to be a member of the Beta Kappa Chapter or the Beta Phi Omega Sorority in order to join, but must either identify as a lesbian or are questioning that aspect of your identity. Genderqueer DC will be at 7 p.m. on Zoom. This support group is for people who identify outside of the gender binary including bigender, agender, genderfluid, and more. For more information, visit Genderqueer DC’s Facebook.

Job Club will be hosted via Zoom at 6 p.m. This event is a weekly job support program to help job entrants and seekers, including the long-term unemployed, improve self-confidence, motivation, resilience and productivity for effective job searches and networking — allowing participants to move away from being merely “applicants” toward being “candidates.” For more details, please contact [email protected].

Thanksgiving Feast and Zoom Hangout will be at 1 p.m. in person at the DC Center for the LGBT Community and online on Zoom. For those attending in-person, meals will be available for pick-up. Trans Discussion Group will be at 7 p.m. on Zoom. This event is intended to provide an emotionally and physically safe space for trans people and those who may be questioning their gender identity/expression to join together in community and learn from one another. The DC LGBTQ+ Community Center will host “Movement for Healing” at 3 p.m. This trauma- and yoga therapy–informed class is designed to help guests gently reconnect with their body and their breath. Through mindful movement, somatic awareness, and grounding practices, guests will explore how to release tension, increase mobility, and cultivate a deeper sense of safety and ease within. “Self-Defense Class with Avi Rome” will be at 12:30 p.m. Rome is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and a full-time Martial Arts instructor with 25 years of teaching experience. He holds a 5th Degree Black Belt in Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do and is the director of the studio’s Adaptive Tae Kwon Do program for students with special needs.
