John Oliver wasn’t prepared for gay bunny book popularity
the talk show host discussed the children’s story on ‘Ellen’

John Oliver’s book trolling Vice President Mike Pence is a massive hit but the talk show host had no idea people would love a book about Pence’s gay bunny.
On Tuesday, Oliver stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to reveal that his two-year-old son Hudson was the inspiration behind, “A Day In the Life of Marlon Bundo.”
“Part of the reason for writing this book was so that I could read something to him which paints the world in the light that you want it to be rather than the way that it’s currently being painted,” Oliver says.
The book is a spoof of Charlotte Pence’s new children’s book, “Marlon Bundo’s Day in the Life of the Vice President.” In Oliver’s version, written by Jill Twiss, Marlon Bundo falls in love with another boy bunny. Proceeds from the book will benefit the Trevor Project and AIDS United.
Oliver admitted to DeGeneres that he didn’t expect the book to be so popular. It’s currently the number one best-selling book on Amazon and the number one best-selling audiobook on Audible.
A second printing is in the works.

The annual CAMP Rehoboth fundraiser, SUNFESTIVAL, was held over Labor Day weekend in Rehoboth Beach, Del. The festival included a massive dance party at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center on Sunday.

Blade Foundation to host fundraiser in Rehoboth on Sept. 12
Mayor-elect Stewart, state Rep. Snyder-Hall to give remarks
The Washington Blade Foundation will host a fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 12 in Rehoboth Beach featuring remarks from Rehoboth’s Mayor-elect Susan Stewart and Delaware state Rep. Claire Snyder-Hall.
The Foundation funds fellowships for aspiring queer journalists and enterprise journalism projects.
The event will be held at a private home in Rehoboth. Tickets are $100 and include open bar from Diego’s, catered appetizers from the Blue Moon, entertainment, guest speakers, and an auction. Tickets are available here.
