Whitman-Walker Health held its annual spring affair at the Carnegie Institution of Science on Thursday, April 19. This year’s event, called “Be the Care,” was emceed by Gwen Ifill. Whitman-Walker Chief Medical Officer Dr. Raymond Martins presented Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius with the Partner for Life Award. Whitman-Walker Health was presented with a check from CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield for $150,000.

The Victory Fund held its National Champagne Brunch at the Ritz-Carlton on Sunday, April 27. Speakers included Tim Gunn, Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), Gov. Wes Moore (D-Md.), Rep. Sarah McBride (D-Del.), Rep. Chris Pappas (D-N.H.) and Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.).
