Hugh Jackman revealed where he thinks the origin of speculation that he’s closeted came from.

Jackman, who has been married to Deborra-lee Furness since 1996, told a U.S. radio station that it all stems from a part he played on Broadway, according to Metro.

In 2003, Jackman starred as a gay singer-songwriter in the Broadway play “The Boy from Oz,” which features a kissing scene with his male co-star.

“I was literally just locking lips… I started to laugh so hard,” Jackman says.”So, I stay kissing him, because I thought, ‘I’m just going to laugh. I’m going to stay here until it subsides.’ And it never subsided and the whole audience could see my body shaking, so they started.”

However, the speculation doesn’t bother the 50-year-old actor. “Some dudes do get upset, some dudes say, ‘Don’t say I’m gay,’ (but) I am good,” Jackman says.
