Queer atheist discussion at Newseum
‘Faitheist’ author Chris Stedman to speak as part of Religious Freedom Education Project

The Newseum (555 Pennsylvania Ave., NW) hosts “A dialogue with the improbable Chris Stedman” as part of its Religious Freedom Education Project on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Stedman works to build bridges across some of our biggest differences at a time when he says personal attacks characterize culture war debates. He describes himself as a “queer atheist” and serves as the Assistant Humanist Chaplain at Harvard University and is the author of “Faitheist: How an Atheist Found Common Ground with the Religious.”

The Wanda Alston Foundation held its Fall Reception at the Penthouse Rooftop at The Wharf on Friday, Sept. 18. Honorees included D.C. Councilmember Robert White, Director of the Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ+ Affairs Japer Bowles, and the Washington Capitals. Rayceen Pendarvis served as the emcee and entertainment was provided by the Thomas Circle Singers.
