Sampson displays comedic strengths

Openly gay comedian Sampson performs at Lace (2214 Rhode Island Ave., N.E.) Saturday at 8 p.m. with special guest Comedian Dion as part of “Catch It Bitch: A Stand Up Comedy Show.”

Touring since 2003, Sampson has been featured in several sold out performance of his show, “Don’t Make Me Take Off My Earrings,” and has also written a book, “Taboo Village: A Perspective on Being Gay in Black America.”

A portion of the proceeds from the show will go to Wanda Alston House, an LGBT youth transitional housing shelter.
